About Us  Dick Horan founded Assurance Inspection Services in 1996 as a home inspection company. Environmental inspections such as lead-based paint were added later to compliment the home inspection business so that the buyers and owners of homes and buildings could have a thorough understanding of their surroundings.
Dick is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in Technical Agriculture. Later he received a masters degree in business from Georgia State University In Atlanta, Ga. He completed his home inspection training in 1996. The State of Wisconsin requires that home inspectors be registered by the Department of Licensing and Regulation. Dick’s registration number is 5-106. The registration process required a 4 hour exam on the operation of a home. Twenty hours per year of continuing education is mandatory to maintain the registration. Dick is also licensed as a Lead-Based Paint Risk Assessor (LRA 12683) and a Lead-Based Paint Abatement Supervisor (LCS 12683). He is also qualified as a Principal Instructor in the lead detector and hazard reduction disciplines. Dick also holds an Asbestos Inspector License with the Department of Health & Family Services. (AII12683). The mold industry is not a regulated discipline. Continuing education is required in all disciplines. Dick is a member of the National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI) and is ranked as a Certified Residential Inspector. He is also a candidate member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). He is also a member of the Great Lakes Chapter of ASHI. Both organizations provide excellent continuing education in the home inspection industry. He is actively involved with the Wisconsin Association of Home Inspectors (WAHI) which promotes the continuing education and the home inspection industry in the State of Wisconsin. Dick’s background is in industry with experience in plant maintenance. He has completed several remodeling projects. Experience in the home inspection industry and continuing education have been an asset in conducting a thorough inspection. |
